Why fighting a stag party might not be a good idea

Looks can be deceiving and picking a fight with a bloke dressed in stockings and suspenders might not be a great idea. A silly boy in Swansea decided to start on a bunch of lads on a stag do dressed in drag. Unfortunately, for the idiot that started the fight, the stag party was a bunch of cage fighters and he soon found out why one of their number's nickname is 'lights out'!

See the story on the BBC website. There's also a great interview with stag party member "lights out".

Stag do organiser goes bust

Some best men are going to be in serious grief as Stag do organiser Brilliant weekends has ceased trading leaving upto about £500k in unpaid debt. This means that groups are going to find that they may have to pay for things twice.
It's a stark reminder to pay by credit card when you book your stag do so that you can claim back the cost if things go tits up like this. Apparently, the reason for the company going pop is due to the fall in the value of the pound vs. the Euro. So I guess this is another reason to organise your own stag do and book directly with the hotels and suppliers rather than use a 3rd party weekend organiser. At least if you pay for items separately you're unlikely to loose everything if something goes wrong.

Organise your own stag do or let an organiser do it for you

A stag weekend is undoubtedly a great event but it can also be a great pain in the arse. If you do it yourself you can create something completely unique that's far better than anything anyone's been on before and you can also save everyone who goes a few quid. What kind of stag do you think works best - a pre-organised event or one that's organised by the best man?
